In memory of Bill Andrews 8/18/1944 - 10/26/2017
Friends and Family, thank you so much for joining Team B.A.
It would mean a lot to have you join us this year - in honor of Dad, in support of our family, and to show strength for other people, families, and caretakers affected by ALS.
The ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter helped us in a time of need and its been an incredible experience to become a part of that team and help provide for other families like the chapter did for mine. Money raised for ALS before Dad's diagnosis helped him and our family during his journey with the disease. The money we raise this year cannot help Dad, but, will help those currently living with ALS and those who will be diagnosed in the future.
I can speak first hand how brutal and devastating ALS is for the people who get it and for the friends and family members subsequently impacted by it. I am incredibly proud and happy to be a part of the solution and to help provide resources that are game changers for people with ALS.
Thank you San Diego Chapter for all you did for our dad - we're honored to be a part of this wonderful opportunity and to help other families in need.
See you at the walk,
The Andrews Family
Why We Need Your Help
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
