My father Matt Conlon was an active and vibrant man. He was a lifelong learner who valued health, hard work, education, travel, sport, and community.
November 2017 our lives changed forever. He was given a death sentence diagnosis of ALS. It was a very aggressive and difficult 7 months until he passed away with no bodily functions left whatsoever, externally of internally.
He took this diagnosis on with grace and gratitude that he didn’t get this disease as a younger man. He said he was grateful that he was 77 because if he had got it at a younger age, then me and Joe wouldn’t have had a father.
I promised him in his last moments on Earth that I’d do what I could to raise awareness and find a cure for this horrific disease so that no one has to go through what he suffered.
Please help me in this fight against this cruel monster called ALS.
With love and gratitude,
Caroline Conlon
