Hannah Ballew Book Release

Daughter of PALS authors children's book "Bennett the Badger"

When Hannah Ballew was 3-1/2 years old, her father Van Bennett Ballew was diagnosed with ALS. Later in life, as a Girl Scout working toward her Gold Award, she was eager to incorporate her connecttion to ALS and to her father.

Hannah decided to write a children's book as a way to help those who are suffering the way her family suffered. Recently, the book's illustrations were completed and the book is now ready for distribution. Hannah's intention is that parents use this book to begin a dialogue about the journey of ALS.

Hannah grew up in Del Mar, CA, graduated from Torrey Pines High School, and is now a senior at Tulane University. To keep this book sustainable, the ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter; an organization with which Hannah works with closely, will be distributing the book to families affected by ALS. She hopes that this book will be helpful to all that read it, no matter their situation.

The books are free for anyone who'd like one. Please contact the ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter office anytime to inquire about getting a copy. (858) 271-5547 sdweb@alsasd.org www.alsasd.org.
